Sarah's baby, a boy Donald Dale, was born this afternoon at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Sun July 4-Temp 73-91; 46,400 gal: Independence Day. Not so much water today but I suppose I'll have to pump in the morning. Charles (W) and Sterling Long were here this P.M.

Walter Schultz and wife, Earl Rinck and wife, Chas Benson, wife and son, and Chas Kaiser and family tried to have a picnic here this eve but the rain spoiled it but not much rain fell. Got two letters from Donald this morning, he is OK. One contained a POWO of $40.00 which will be put in savings for him.
Tues July 6-Temp 72-90; 56,800 gal: Hot and threatening rain. Bought 1-25 and 1-50 bond for us (from Sight Feed) and 1-50 for Donald with his allotment he sends home for that.
Wed July 7-Temp 64-83; 63,200 gal: Cloudy and showers all around us but none here. Put fire hydrant together at Dick Campbell's, they just welded it today. They are sure busy at Pence's shop. Picked a few raspberries this A.M. Pumped twice today although they didn't use much.
