Before I get back to Grandpa's journal, I thought I'd add this program I found recently. This is the program for the West Alexandria, Ohio Centennial. Looking through it, I found a lot of names I recognized, plus some facts about the village I didn't know.
I hope some of you can look at this and find names of people you remember. Others may learn some things about West Alex. I loved the daily schedules of events, especially the prizes awarded for the competitions. What would we do today for $.50 first prize or $.25 for second place. But I imagine in 1936 $.50 could buy a meal. So, I hope you all look at this as fondly as I have.
In my next entry, I'm going to start on the journal again. There was a gap in his writing but I'll pick up just where I left off at the last entry. It will start with October, 1944. But first, enjoy celebrating West Alex's 100th anniversary.
